Information about Tannins Materials
Tannins are water-soluble products applied for curing of fresh leather.
The spray drying process offers an easy way to preserve the activity of
the tannins materials. The spray died powder can be re-dispersed in water for
use in the tannin process. Tannin materials can be divided into two groups:
- Natural tannin: hese are extracted from woods, barks and
fruits ( Quebracho, Wattle, Divi-Divi, etc.)
- Synthetic tannin: These include chemical chrome tannin
material ( basic chromium salts )
The corrosive and abrasive nature of some of these tannins requires our
experience to apply special materials and designs to product-contact parts and
feed/product handling systems. This ensures the plant's durability and
trouble-free operation.
We have supplied many co-current-flow spray dryers
with a high-speed rotating atomizer wheel and nozzle towers in combination with
powder conveying and agglomeration systems to the tannin industry worldwide.
